Creating Channels

Creating a channel in Direktt is the first step to engaging your audience, sending updates, and managing notifications.

Follow the steps below to set up your channel and get ready to connect with subscribers.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to Channels

  • Log in to the Direktt admin console.
  • Click on Dashboard & Channels in the top menu.
  • You’ll see an overview of your existing channels.

2. Add a New Channel

  • Click the blue Add New Channel button located at the top right of the channels list.
  • A pop-up window labeled Add New Channel will appear.

3. Name Your Channel

  • In the pop-up, enter your desired Channel Name
  • Click Submit to create the channel.

4. Configure Channel Settings

  • Your new channel now appears in your channel list.
  • Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to your new channel in the Actions column.
  • You’ll be directed to the Channel Info page.

5. Edit Channel Details

On the Channel Info tab, you can adjust the following settings:

  • Channel Image: Click Upload New Photo to add a profile image. (JPG, GIF, PNG, max 800kB)
  • Channel Name: Update the name if needed.
  • Channel Handle: Set a unique handle for your channel. Requirements:
    • 6–24 characters
    • Lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores only
    • No spaces or special characters
  • Channel Color: Choose a color for your channel’s branding.
  • When finished, click Save Changes.

6. Find Your Subscription QR Code

  • On the right-hand side, you’ll see your channel’s unique Subscription QR Code – subscribers can use this to join your channel quickly.

Once you’ve created a channel, you can customize more properties to control user experience, provide services, and clarify your channel’s privacy rules. Below is a guide to configuring Service Links and Channel Policies.

Service Links are shortcuts to important resources or digital services for your subscribers (e.g., coupons, booking, loyalty program dashboard).
Service Links appear as buttons within your channel in the Direktt mobile app for easy user access.

Adding or Editing Service Links

  • Go to Service Links
    • Open your channel.
    • Click the Service Links tab.
  • Add New Service Link
    • Click Add New Service Link.
    • Fill in:
    • Service Link Name: The label shown to users (e.g., “My Coupons”).
    • Service Link URL: The full website link you want to share.
    • Choose Target:
      • Browser: Opens the link in a separate browser window.
      • App: Opens the link inside the Direktt app (WebView).
    • Click Submit.
  • Edit or Remove
    • Use the pencil icon to edit an existing Service Link.
    • Use the trash icon to remove it.
  • Drag & Drop
    • Reorder Service Links by dragging them to your preferred order.

Channel Policy

Set a clear privacy and data protection policy to inform users about how their data will be handled by your channel.

Defining a Channel Policy

  • Go to Channel Policy
    • Click the Channel Policy tab.
  • Add Policy Details
    • Title: (e.g., “Pizzeria Privacy Policy”)
    • Text: Describe your channel’s privacy, data protection, or terms of use as simply and clearly as possible.
  • Save
    • Click Save Changes.

Note: Subscribers will see and must agree to your channel policy before joining.

Other Channel Properties Overview

  • Channel Info: Set the channel name, handle, avatar, color, and (optionally) a channel-specific user profile link.
  • Service Links: Link to external services or resources and configure how they open.
  • Channel Policy: Set privacy and data/usage policies.
  • Admin Links: (See next guides for details)
  • Pricing Plan: Review plan limits and upgrade if needed.

Tips

  • Use clear and descriptive names for Service Links.
  • Ensure all URLs are correct and accessible from user devices.
  • Review your Channel Policy for accuracy and clarity.
  • Service Link order can help highlight the most important resources first.

Pricing Plans and Subscription Management

Direktt offers flexible pricing plans to suit different business needs and audience sizes.

You can easily view, purchase, and manage your subscription directly from your Direktt admin console.

Understanding Pricing Plans

  • All plans include access to the Direktt mobile app, 1-on-1 messaging, advanced WordPress extensions, and Direktt support via email and Discord.

Viewing and Managing Your Current Plan

Go to Pricing Plan

  • In the Direktt admin console, open your channel and select the Pricing Plan tab.
  • Here you’ll see:
    • Your current pricing plan.
    • Renewal dates.
    • A summary of available plans and their features.
  • To manage your subscription, click Manage Subscription.

Manage Subscription and Billing

  • You’ll be redirected to Direktt’s subscription portal (powered by Lemon Squeezy).
  • Enter your email address and press Sign In.
  • Check your inbox for a secure sign-in link.
  • Click the link to access your subscription and billing settings.

What You Can Do Here:

  • View your active subscriptions
  • Update/cancel a subscription
  • Edit payment methods
  • Download invoices and check billing history
  • Update billing information (address, company, tax ID)

Purchasing or Upgrading a Subscription

  • Select Your Plan
    • In the Pricing Plan tab, choose your desired plan (Standard or Premium).
  • Checkout
    • Click to purchase or upgrade.
    • You’ll see a checkout form.
    • Enter your email, preferred payment method, and billing details.
    • Confirm and complete your payment.
  • Confirmation and Activation
    • Your new plan is activated immediately upon successful payment.
    • You’ll receive confirmation emails and receipts.

Changing or Cancelling Your Plan

  • To switch plans or cancel, revisit Manage Subscription as detailed above.
  • You can downgrade, upgrade, or stop renewal at any time; changes take effect according to the current billing cycle.

Troubleshooting and Support

Tips

You can always review your subscriber limits and plan features from the Pricing Plan tab to ensure your channel has the right resources as you grow. If you approach your plan’s limits, upgrade anytime for uninterrupted service.
